Lorna's Story

Life I don't guess you would say my life has been a complete success, but Richard and I have been married for almost 47 years. We have four children and 15 grandchildren. We have a good start on the next generation. There are now 10 great-grandchildren. Richard was diagnosed with Huntington's Disease about 10years ago, so I spend most of my time taking care of him. Huntington's is a terminal disease affecting the mind and body. I recently had to place him a nursing home. I do a lot of plastic canvas needlepoint. I have entered the state fair here and most years I get at least one ribbon. I have taught one of our granddaughters to do the craft and she also get ribbons at the state fair. Our daughter, Renee calls LasVegas home. Randy, our son, lives just outside of Houston, Tx. RaElla lives about 50 miles from us (she has moved to within 2 blocks of Renee in Las Vegas. Robin lives about 15 from us.We see her and her four children several times a week. If any of you reading this ever go thru Louisville, give us a call. We can probably find a hamburger or a dish of spaghetti. Well I cannot think of any thing else to say about me and mine. Hope you were not too bored. Extra: Our second oldest granddaughter gave birth to a 10lb 4 1/2oz.boy on Christmas Day,2001. His name is Kaleb. He was 22 in.long. Richard passed away on Aug.18,2002 10/28/04 Well, in the past 4 months, I have been blessed with 3 gr-grandsons. George V, Tyler and Quintin. That makes 11 gr-grand kids. I am getting broker with each passing year. 10/28/07 It don't seem like it has b...Expand for more
een 3 years since I updated this bio. There are 3 more gr-grand kids with another one due in January. I have been doing some traveling. I really like that. My friend, JoAnn and I went to Las Vegas in May for 10 days. I have 2 daughters that live there and they really made us feel welcome. Planned all sorts of things for us to do. Of course I spent the month of Aug. in Pa. I do that most every year. 11/15/08 Well, here is another report on the gr-grand kids. Granddaughter, Dyan, Randy's daughter is going to have a baby girl the first week of Dec. Randy is back in the military and works out of Culpepper, Va. He will be going to Dyan's home in Abilene, Ks. around the middle of Dec. and will be stopping here for b&b on his way. I am going to be packed and go on with him for 2 weeks. I will have Christmas with my Ky. family when I return. The baby born in Jan. was a boy, born to Renee's son Adam and wife there in Las Vegas. He is almost a year old now. I won't get to see him until Christmas of '09. There will be another baby in May, God willing. Can you keep up with the number? The Dec. baby will be number 16. Oh, my!!! For the past 2 years, I have been going to the "Y" as many times a week that life don't get in the way. Recently, they added an adult beginners swim class. I got a diploma for being able to swim 2 times the length. I am quite proud of myself. Imagine being almost 70 and just learning to swim. Check back in March for a great update. I am so excited. See if you can guess what is going to happen. Let me know what you think.
