Louis's Story

'Hello'....hope you're having a good day....thank you for taking the time to read my story. Update info: In November of 2009, started my own wholesale lumber sales company....buying/selling lumber products through-out America and Canada. My company is headquartered in Montana. I was born in Spokane, Washington, but spent my childhood growing up in California. Spent most of my childhood in Stockton, California....so, I call that town my 'home town'. While growing up, in addition to living and going to school in Stockton: went to schools in Tulare, Rio Vista, Antioch, Napa, Porterville, Greenfield, Frazier Park, Fresno, & Atwater. Even went to a one room school called Mt. Veeder Elementary (in Napa County)....anyone else out there who went to Mt. Veeder Elementary School,in Napa? Loved growing up in Stockton....watching the Stockton Ports play baseball and the Tigers of UOP play football were some of the great memories I have of my home town. Some of the schools, in Stockton, I went to are: Jackson Elementary, Stockton High and Lincoln High, to name a few. While in Stockton, attended Saint Mary's Church (anyone else grow up in that church?). In 1967 got married (after 15 years, of marriage, got divorced...guess my ex-wife got tired of my Italian cooking....can't say as I blame her...heck, I get tired of my cooking sometimes too! Anywho, my ex and I have been blessed with four great kids...we shared joint custody...my kids stayed with me, during the school year and they stayed with my ex, during the summer. Although unusual, that custody arrangement apparently worked out ok, since all four turned out to be darn good kids. My oldest daughter is an attorney, my youngest daughter trains abused/abandoned horses that are used to help handicap kids, both of my sons are California law-enforcement officers. Have eight wonderful granddaughters and one brand new great granddaughter too! Attended Napa Valley College, Cal-Poly of Pomona and Pacific Coast Baptist College...graduated with a BA Degree....don't use it, but it's nice to have. My work experiences include the following: cotton picker, a cook at a hamburger joint, night manager of a Walgreen's drug store, textile machine operator, warehouse manager, regional sales manager, business owner, law-enforcement officer and lumber broke...Expand for more
r. Since 1992, I've been employed as a lumber broker....love where I live....love my job and the people I work with....can't believe a guy can have this much fun and earn a living too! Moved from Napa, California to the historic and beautiful Bitterroot Valley, of Montana, in November 1992. I've been fortunate enough to live and work in God's Country. Own five acres with an old, small farm house on it. The main part of that house is over 100 years old. I wake up each morning to views of two beautiful mountain ranges: the Sapphire and the Bitterroot Mountains. I love to hunt, fish and hike in the mountains....there is no better place than Montana to do all of that in. My favorite things to do include: going to Missoula and watching the University of Montana football games (Go Griz!), seeing a good play at the Hamilton Play House(even acted in one of their plays!), hiking, hunting, fishing, shooting, dancing, singing (well, I call it singing :~) ), acting, cooking, reading a good book, listening to a well prepared & thought provoking sermon, traveling (every chance I get!), visiting wineries (keep in mind: as my youngest son says, "life is to short for cheap wine!"), visiting ghosts towns, dining out, shooting pool, barbecuing in the snow, walking along a beach, watching the stars near a mountain stream, watching 4th of July fireworks at a Montana Rodeo, being with my kids/grandkids/family/friends, sharing a bottle of wine with a friend...and just having fun. Heard someone say once: "At the end of our life, we will regret the risks we didn't take more than we will regret the risks we did take"....with that thought in mind, live your life to the fullest....don't be afraid to take a risk now and then...my oldest son says, "you don't stand a chance, unless you take a chance!". Dare to take that chance; whether it means meeting someone new, traveling to a new place, accepting a new job, re-connecting with old friends, going back to school or starting your own business. Wishing you and your family a day filled with pleasant surprises, exciting challenges and new opportunities. Thank you for reading my story....why not take a moment and send me an e-mail....a new friend and a good book are some of the joys life brings our way. Hope to hear from you soon...until then, have a great day!
