Louis's Story
Life
I graduated from Riverside High School in 1966. My twin sister,Kathy graduated in 1965,so that will tell you a little about my life at Riverside. After graduation I attended Bryant Stratton. I dropped out for the summer in May 1968. I was in the Army by June 1968. I guess I did not have a good game plan. Anyways I was in Vietnam by Oct 1968. I was assigned to the 199th Infantry Brigrade. While in Vietnam, standing inline waiting to be assigned to my unit,I met Bernie Hetro another Riverside Graduate. It was GREAT seeing someone from your home school, on the other side of the world. That was the last time I saw Bernie. I extended my tour in Vietnam to get out of the Army early. I was discharged Jan 1970. I worked at Westinghouse for a short time, than was hired at GM Tonaw...Expand for more
anda. Divorced in 1980 from high school sweetheart, who attended Bishop McMann. We were different people after the war. Remarried in 1984 to Laurie. I have a wonderful wife and step-son Michael, that I helped to raise since he was 14. Michael is the joy of my life and we have a terrific relationship. Michael taught me how to be a good father. He currently lives in Lancaster NY. I retired for GM in 1970 and moved to Sarasota Florida. My wife retired the same year, she was a med. sect. for Dr. Fred Berell, who worked at Millard Fillmore Hospital. We love Florida and visit Buffalo every summer for about 6 weeks. Buffalo is still in out hearts. So I guess you can say I had a rough start, but finished up ok. Love to hear from Riverside people. Have a good day.
