Louise's Story
Life
Life has been one big, always changing, musical event. I've played piano, organ, and now, for the past 9 years, harp! Have studied harp since 1998 and have now reached the point where I play for weddings and other gigs. Have played for Petersburg Symphony and am now working on large choral works. Have recently given a couple of concerts in Petersburg, one playing all three instruments. Even play with an inter-generational harp ensemble consisting of children, teenagers, younger adults, and some of us not-so-young adults! Serve as music minister at Walnut Hill Baptist in Petersburg. y Powers, our senior English teacher, had played. Direct vocal choir and handbell choirs. Teach piano and harp. Retired from teaching math and music in Colonial Heights Public Schools 8 years ago. Have two children, five grandchildren, and one wonderful husband, Gene, who has been with me now for 43 years!
Recently we opened a satellite office (in our home) of Alpha Voyages, Inc., based in Winchester, VA, and owned by my college roommate, Mary June Aikens Williams. Our first escapade will be to lead a group of 29 people on a 10-day cruise of four Hawaiian islands. Who knows where we'll go next!!
