Lourdes's Story
Life
Eddie and I met in February 1998 and in July 2002 married at Gesu Chruch.
We have two step-children (from Eddie's previous marriage) Alexandra who is 27 and Edward who will be 25 in November of 2007.
Alex graduated, both her Bachelor and Master's program from the University of South Florida in Tampa. She studied Speech, Communication and Disorders. Alex married in 2005. She lives with her husband, Frank, and works in Tampa. Alex and Frank welcomed their baby girl, Charlotte Emma Fulghum on May 17th, 2008. Charlie, as we call her, weighted in a 7 pounds, 2 ounces and 19 inches long. She is quite cute. We are grandparents!!!!! Charlotte is now 2.5 years old. And Alex is making us grandparents again. Audrey Elizabeth Fulghum is scheduled to arrive on March 13th, 2011.
Edward graduated on December 15, 2007 also from USF with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Physics. Edward moved back home with us in December 2007. In June 2008, Edward joined an airspace engineering company in Florida's scape coast. We are very proud of his accomplishments.
My mom passed away on March 14, 2006; it's been over 5 years. And I still miss her every day. But luckly, my father is still with me. He is gong to be 93 and now lives with us. His health is declining somewhat. He has emphasima from working with fiber glass and paint. He smoke when I was little but quit over 42 years ago.
Our family welcomed a new member on March 8, 2011. Alex and Frank made us grand parents for the second time. Audrey Elizabeth Fulghum was born at 10:48 am, weighing 7.29 pounds and 19.75 inches. She is very adorable. Looks like a different personality from Charlotte. Baby a...Expand for more
nd mother are dong well. Everyone is home and settling into a routine. We are blessed.
College
After Notre-Dame, I continued in Miami-Dade Community College, Downtown Campus, as it was called back them. I graduate in December 1978 with an Associates in Arts, with Honors.
In January 1979, I enrolled in Florida International University, Tamiami Campus. And in May 1981, graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration in Accounting and International Business. (There was no school of Accounting back then)
Workplace
Upon graduating from FIU, I joined with State of Florida, Public Service Commission South Florida Audit Team from 1981 through 1989. I audited public utilities companies in the State.
In January 1990, I joined Price Waterhouse, Comprehensive Professional Services - Audit Team. My experiences were fantastic.
During the years 1992 through late 1997, I entered the non-profit organization field as Comptroller, Chief Financial Officer of three (3) non-profit organizations in the South Florida area related to children, seniors and metal health.
In early 1998, I opened my own consulting firm, Madariaga & Associates, Inc. providing services to certified public accounting firms in the field of audit, taxes, and compliance engagements to international banking institutions in South Florida.
In later 2002, one of the clients brought me on board and I continue to be in area of Compliance for International Banking Institutions in South Florida. I have been fortunate to have wonderful mentors. I continue to learn every day. I am currently involved with both international and domestic banking in the areas of anti money laundering and anti terrorism financing.
