loyce's Story
Married Otis Welch we lived in Homer 2 years, moved to Greenwood Miss. with his job then to Valdosta Ga. He quit work we moved back to the lake. I went to work soon after our second child was born. I worked at the hospital and had a third child. Divorced otis in 82. Became the Food Service Manager when Claiborne Manor opened. Stayed in food service for a few years. in 1990 I graduated and passed State Boards to become an LPN worked at Presbyterian Village 17 years. Married Pat Hightower 1-11-92 . We were a blended family. His 3 girls My 2 boys and 1 girl. He loved my kids and I loved his. We took oor vacations on our motorcycle. We went to see Linda Tredwell Kingsford in Verginia. we went north with Curtis Nelson to his family reuniion and visited the North Platt Historic Mesum [over the interstate] Wasn't inpressed with Rushmore, but we loved Crazy Horse, Devils Tower. Grand Canyon 4 times, the last time some of our group [Faye/ Greg Hightower, Troy/ Karen Dison and Joe Thompson] went to Vagis. Bobby and Sonya Willimson and Pat and I worked on Pats bucket list WE crossed Wolf Creek Pass. Boy was it pretty, still has snow, then we sat out bad weather on our way back. d I had the camp ground to ourselves at mill creek was my dream come true. We had been on the road for some time returning from pats Class reunion in Ark.. it was raining hard pat pulled into the camp ground and we stood under the small shed that told you where you were. once the rain let up it was late even so we set up our kwik camp. It was beatiful green trees a creek and not another sole. We swan and had a light supper of cheese, fruit,chips and pasta/chicken salad , he had beer and I had wine, had a small camp fire and talked till bed time..Arn't memories sweet. . Any way I went back to school got my Associate Degree in Theraputic Massage in 2011 Pat and I road with Ralph Tucker, Bobbyand Sonya , Harry and Sally and tpured North and South Carolina Pat and I road the Dragons Tail in the rain it was cold and wat, but pat checked off another item. Everyone should camp at Deep Creek. at least once. headed home, got word that my step dad had passed, a friend 3 cousins and Sona followed within 4 months and I lost Pat Oct.22 2010. I bought our home and land the bull, tractor, and his trucks and my truck and yes the trike and camper. I have my endorcement now and plan to ride next summer. Don't know where yet. trying to open my Massage Office. Tower Of Healing know that Pat watches over me, and I try to keep the pastures clean and the yard mowed.
