Luann's Story
Life
After college, I moved to Roseburg, Oregon. By the next year, I was married. After my daughter was born, I substitute taught at various schools in the area for several years. I took a job as Children's Director at our church, and worked there for almost 9 years. Today, I am a third grade teacher at Glide Elementary. My husband of 19 years is in the timber industry. I have a 18 year old daughter married daughter, a great son-in-law, and a 17 year old son. We have 5 dogs and live in a historic home in Oregon. My parents are still in Anchorage, AK.
College
I started out at U of A and ACC, then went to U of Oregon my 3rd year of college. I came back to UA to graduate with a Bachelor of Education. ...Expand for more
I also took classes at Alaska Bible College (extension), and have attended Umpqua Community College here in Roseburg. I continue to accumulate credits from various different Oregon college, taking education courses.
It was interesting when I attended UO, as I saw several Alaska people there. Jessica (Cedarberg) was one, and my memory is fading now of the others.
Workplace
I was a substitute teacher for many years as I raised my two kids. I was Children's Ministry Director for 8 years for a non-denominational church here in Oregon, a job I dearly loved. I am now a 3rd grade teacher, and love it!I also work as a receptionist and leader for Weight Watchers, since I lost 50 pounds with them 6 years ago.
