Lucille's Story
After those sweet years at Pioneer School in Steilacoom, I went to Mann Jr. High and Lakes High School, like so many of my classmates.
I left home after the senior year and moved to Hollywood California where I worked for a shop that designed and created clothing for the stars and other groovy people. I was also a long distance telephone operator for Pacific Bell Telephone. After becoming homesick for Washington State, I said goodbye to Sunset Strip and headed back to my stomping grounds.

first husband. We moved to Olympia and built a beautiful house on Pattison Lake and raised two kids. I opened up a child care center and preschool . We were together 32 years and then went our separate ways. I started climbing mountains and met my new husband this way. We have been together for 7 years now and enjoy hiking , camping and spending time at home on the lake.
I often think of my childhood and Pioneer School. I really have fond memories of the kids I used to know.
I visit Steilacoom at least once a year.
