Luis E. Guzman:  

God has been exceptionally good to me. Not only has He brought me into a family which I (and many others)admire, but He has surrounded me with individuals who have significantly enhanced my life by my association with them as husband, father, friend, colleague, or teacher. I attended TJHS my 8th - 12th grades. My life has been greatly impacted by my association with such a distinguished compilation of outstanding individuals and my mentors (not the least of which is Sargeant Sterling). As a member of the JROTC for four years, I was honored to be part of the male B-team for two years and the Varsity for the last two, reaching the rank of Major (S-4), in the male Batallion Staff in 1976-1977. After graduating, I attended EPCC, then transferred to UTEP where I received my B.S. Ed.in 1985. In 1984 I did my student-teaching at Jeff under the direction of Mr. Joe Jaques, Speech teacher and extraordinary friend. I was hired by EPISD in January of 1985 to teach 7th and 8th grade at Canyon Hills Jr. High.
