Luis's Story

Graduated from KSU in November of 1972. Hired as an electrical engineer in January 1973 with Kansas Gas & Electric Company in Wichita, Kansas. Promoted to Operating Engineer at Gordon Evans Steam Electric Station in 1980. Transferred to the Nuclear Department as a design engineer in 1981. Promoted to Electrical Supervisor ...Expand for more
and then later to Electrical Design Manager in 1991. Transferred to the Nuclear Power Plant in Burlington Kansas in 1994. Continued in Electrical Design Engineering until retirement in 2013. Forty years of power generation. Subcontracted back to Wolf Creek Nuclear for an additional six years until December 2019. I'm done.
