More about Lydia:"Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend. Then together we will walk into the true promised land.
I am a Black, Native American, Irish, German, Rumanian, Jewish, Polyamorus 2nd generation Queerspawn. Needless to say, I was raised so far outside the box that I couldn't even see its outline. I am the person who is either going to amuse or piss you off. There's really not a great deal of middle ground. I speak my mind rather openly. As far as I'm concerned there's no point in keeping one's thoughts closeted. If others can't take honesty with openness that is just proof of the room they have to grow.

on, as well as an active part of overall campus life.
I said above that I am a 2nd generation queerspawn. For those unfamiliar with the term let me explain. someone who is "queerspawn" is a person who has one or more queer parents. The term was coined by COLAGE, a national advocacy group for kids from queer families. Being 2nd generation queerspawn means that I also identify as queer.
***NOTE: Queer does not mean homosexual. It is an umbrella term that includes all aspects of a particular sub-culture within our society. I, for instance, am not attracted to "men," however I am attracted to high femme, passable transexuals. I am also drawn towards women that exhibit various levels of androgyny. Ultimately, it is the heart and soul of the individual that draws me, whether they are high femme (trans or bio) or androgynous.
I also identify with the label of "queer" because as far as western culture is concerned, I am definitely not "straight." I cook, care about fashion and how I look, love musicals, and HATE sports. The conventions of attitude that are prescribed to straight men in this culture are oppressive and stifling to me.

I see what I see
I love who I love
I believe what I believe".
