Lydia's Story
My husband and I celebrated 27 years of marriage in Sept 2013......he's a wonderful man and my best friend. Between us, we have 5 children - I gave birth to two daughters, my husband came with a daughter and son and then we adopted our youngest son, who is a special needs young man with 5 different mental disorders. We have 9 grandchildren! After I graduated college, I was a nurse for about 7 years; worked at a computer company for about 10 years and then a couple other companies in admin positions.
From Sept 2001 until Sept 2008, I worked for the Transit Authority in Livermore, CA. It was nice getting out and going to Health Fairs and Transit Fairs talking to people about taking public transportation...I wore about 8 dif...Expand for more
ferent hats but it made the days go by fast!
After retiring, my husband and I moved to Indiana in September 2008. We helped our daughter and son-in-law with a bread and smoothie business. We milled the grain ourselves, used local honey in both the bread and in the smoothies - which were made from fresh fruits and veges.
I was a manager at a lovely Inn for a little over a year. They had some financial difficulties and I was forced to quit, which was sad as I truly enjoyed it there.
So since January 2012, I have been a Zumba Gold instructor, which is lots of fun and good exercise!! I teach at the Community Center in the town where we live. I have also been a skin care consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics for 26 years.
