Lyn's Story
I was at AISD from '73 - '77. I graduated from high school back in Sweeny, Tx, a huge culture shock after living in Germany. Spent 2 years at Berry College in Rome, GA before returning to Texas A&M, where I got a BS in Biomedical Science and went on to veterinary school. I am back home in Bartlesville, OK, where I practice in a small animal hospital with two other veterinarians. In addition to dogs & cats, I also see exotic pets and do behavior consultations. No two days are ever alike, so life is never dull for a vet!
My passion is raising, training, and showing dogs! I have shelties & corgis and we do it all...agility, obedience, conformation (show champions), musical freestyle (dancing with your dog), and a little herding on the side. I teach classes and am also an agility judge. I spend my free time (what free time?) travelling to dog shows, training camps, and visiting with my dog friends from around the country. activities have taken me to parts of the country that I'm not sure I would have gotten to otherwise, such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, and California. However, most of the time, I stick to Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas. If any old AISD alums from my time live in these areas, let me know!
I love to travel and sightsee, something I learned to really appreciate while living in Europe, but rarely have the chance these days. I have three dream vacations...one to Australia / New Zealand, one to Scotland / Ireland / Wales, and one taking the train that runs from Vancouver to Alaska, going through the wilderness areas, then returning on the cruise ship. So far, my travels have been in the form of books and travel shows on PBS, but I still dream.
My brother, Bruce (who graduated from AISD in '76) is a pharmacist in Texas. He is married, with one son, one granddaughter, with a grandson on the way.
I would LOVE to hear from my old friends, particularly LaDonna Handley, Gary Fisher, Jill Hoffman & Connie Garten.
