Lynda's Story
Life
Have been living in the Jackson, Michigan area for 30 years. Retired school music teacher, and church choir director. Graduated from Michigan State University, am a proud Spartan! Married to the best guy in the world for 44 years. Two children, ages 42 and 40, and two grandchildren (8 and 6). Interests include reading, shepherding, wilderness canoe tripping (with my husband), and am a serious amateur photographer. We have a lake cottage on a small, private lake near Marcellus.
Love to travel. Have been to Hawaii, Alaska, the Mediterranean, Australia/New Zealand, the east coast (one of our children lives in Delaware), Florida, etc. Have lived in Kentucky, Illinois, Washington State, and Michigan. .
Life has been very good to me and I enjoy every day.
I always wanted to be a private piano teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. After getting my degree in Applied Piano Pedagogy at MSU, and doing that for twelve years, I found it frustrating and som...Expand for more
etimes boring. I loved working with church choirs, though! So when we moved to Jackson I started helping out with school musicals, accompanying for school choirs, and eventually went back to college to get my school music certification. Had a fun career for 19 years as a public school music teacher, which isn't as easy as it sounds! I retired in 2004 from school music, and in 2010 from church music.
My husband and I still are active in wilderness canoeing, taking yearly trips in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota. We also like to travel to other locations, and now that he is retired also, we are free to visit our children (one in Chicago and one in Delaware), as well as travel to more exotic places.
My husband had a kidney transplant three years ago. We don't know how long his good health will continue, so we are trying to make the most of our opportunities now while he is healthy and strong. We have been blessed with wonderful children and grandchildren, good jobs and very interesting lives.
