Lynette's Story
After high school, I went to the University of Iowa and majored in English and Linguistics. I then went to the University of Illinois in Chicago and finished a MA in Linguistics and a MEd in Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education. I have been an English and/or bilingual teacher for the past 40 years in the Chicago area.

cago and has three children. The other daughter is a clinical social worker at the University of Chicago Medical Center specializing in perinatal mental health, and she also has three children.
I think about the times in which we attended high school and compare our experience with that of the students I teach today in high school. Life has changed so much, yet high school is always there as the first backdrop of our lives no matter what year we graduate. Wishing you all the best in your present and future endeavors. LMR
