Martha's Story
Life - Update 13 Aug 2008
After hearing from a truthful soul not too long ago, I have decided to update my information. Quite some time ago I had expressed alot of anger towards my younger years. I must apologize to all of you. You did not make my life impossible. While I might not have liked my choices, I still had them. I am who I am today because of the poeple who were there for me, the people who weren't there, the people who hurt me and the people I in turn hurt. I have haunting memories that I have held on to for far too long. It's time to let them go. If I had ever done anything to impact your life in a negative way...I assure you, it was never my intent. I have no more grudges and I truly wish each and every being I have ever come in to contact with my best.
(The Family)
I have the most amazing two children in the world (my daughter born March 1997 and my son born March 2001). I love when people tell me how well mannered, creative and beautiful they are. I guess I was just lucky. Still have a dog (min pin-pom), a cat and a fish tank. I currently reside in Colorado Springs and still love the outdoors as much as I ever did.
I was a KJ for a couple of years but finally realized that I'd rather be part of the show than running it. I actually learned how to play the piano, still play my woodwinds, am learning the bass guitar and of course I still love to sing. My band is doing great and we are currently in the studio recording our first demo. I am the lead vocalist (clean, operatic, black metal screams and some death growls). I also sing for The Colorado Springs Chorale Soc...Expand for more
iety.
I have a good life as long as I have my kids. If it weren't for them, I doubt I would be alive today. I don't by any means miss high school but I do miss a few good friends I had back then.
School
It's no surprise that Ron Wilson, Julie Jones and Fred Schwartz were my favorite teachers and my biggest inspirations. They were part of a very, very small group of individuals that NEVER let me down. I was always happiest when I was in one of the music rooms or on stage. Music was, is and will always be my one true passion in life.
I had a lot of crazy moments, so it would be difficult to choose one.
As for doing it all over again. Yes, but only to change a couple things.
College
I was only a semester away from completing my Associate of Arts when a little angel diverted my attention. I still plan on finishing but my daughter and son come first. I have regrets about college yes, but I wouldn't give up my daughter to have a second chance. Not in a million years.
UPDATE:
It is now 2015, can you believe time has flown by so quickly!!! I earned my Associates in Psychology and my Bachelor's of Science in Human Services in 3 1/2 years and am considering starting to work on my Master's in Counseling. My daughter is now 18 and my son is 14. I am in a relationship with someone that truly understands me and loves me for who I am. I love the fact that in 5 years we have never fought and still miss each other even if we are only apart for the work day. I may not have the monetary stability I have worked so hard for but my life is rich and I get to smile everyday.
