Lynn's Story
Life
G'day from down under. Isn't it interesting where life takes one? For me, it has taken me from university (psych and philosophy) to IT consulting to CIO and back to consulting, across most of the 50 states and 8 countries. Landed in Australia 30 + year ago, and have no plans to leave. Still working full time during the day and feral on a 160 acre property at night.
And it has let me revel in the land - with fantastic husband (Keith), two german shepherds, 3 chooks (or chickens to you over/above), 20+ peacocks, and alpacas. If you ever are wandering my way, give me a hoy. You're welcome to put your feet up at my place.
Workplace
After discovering one cannot get a job with a degree in psychology & philosophy, discovered the "business world...Expand for more
" as an accountant at Empire Savings and Loan. Fell into computers and explored the world working in 8 different countries as a Peat Marwick / KPMG consultant until landing in Australia. From there tried the commercial world as a CIO at a contracting/ building organisation. Back into consulting for a short stint then back as a CIO for a large insurance company. Switched to run the consulting arm of a national payroll software and services company, then back again into consulting where I have been for the past 10 years.
Still working full time - would you believe it?
Challenges
Ah, growing older. Sadly Keith has advanced early onset Alzheimers - so we are taking things a day at a time. May need to take a rain check on anyone popping in for a bit.
