Lynn's Story
Warm Greetings To All My Former Students,
I've spent 49 years in the classroom (4 at VWJH, 37 at NHHS, and I finished my 8th year at Ivy Tech as a part time teacher of anatomy-physiology in May, '11) I retired from NHHS in '03. My wife worked as a nurse, but retired in January, 2010. Mike (son #1) is an engineer at ITT in Ft. Wayne. He and Denise have 4 kids including a beautiful little Chinese girl adopted March, 2006.(Her picture along with my other granddaughter is on my Facebook account.) A few years ago Mike and his family built a home right next to ours here on the farm. Their kids are the 5th generation of Klops to live on the 'home place'! My grandfather bought this farm in 1883. Scott (son #2) is also an engineer at the RCA parent company in Indy. He and Abby have 3 kids. Todd (son #3) is a Federal probation officer in Ft. Wayne. He and his wife Jaime do not have any children yet. When I figure out how to post more pictures on Classmates, I'll add some of the family.
I still have all those term papers, and science fair reports, as well as all my seat charts and lots of grade books. I also have the '65 VW Beetle in my barn that I bought new and drove till the early 1980s. (It's still in pretty good condition.)
I'm still enjoying life, but realize...Expand for more
that there's less of it left than there used to be! New Haven Bulldogs are some of the finest people in the world - I practically grew up with them and still keep in touch with many of them via email (at LCKlop at reitnorf (spelled backwards) dot.com, Facebook, etc. Since I'm on FB nearly every day (and seldom on Classmates), I can be contacted easily there. In the phone book my 1st name is Lynn. I would love to hear from former students, and classmates from Leo, BSU, etc.
I have NHHS yearbooks from 1966 through 2003 except for 1983 and 1996. I don't know why I forgot to order Mirages those years, but I'm in the market for copies of those years to make my set complete. If anyone knows where I might buy Mirages for those two years please let me know. I'm willing to pay a reasonable price. The complete set will be donated to the the NHHS Library or the ACPL in New Haven when I pass on. (I also have most of the copies of the Herold - the school newspaper - from '66-'67 through '02-'03. My wife says I save too much stuff....)
We're living in an increasingly complicated and scary world. May I suggest that you search the Bible to find the answers to those tough problems we all encounter in life!
I wish all my friends success and peace.
My Regards,
Mr. Klop.
