Malcolm's Story

Life My life: I am on my third marriage...1) Korean 2) Romanian & 3) Egyptian. Yes, my wife is Egyptian. Hopefully this will be my last marriage. Have travelled a lot over the last 20 years thru 31 countries but lived in the following places: Cherokee Village, AR; Seoul, S.Korea; Stuttgart, Germany; Sarajevo & Tuzla, Bosnia; Amberg, Germany; Lakenheath, England; Doha, Qatar; Camp Buehring, Kuwait. Was in the military for 8 years and some change. After getting out of the military, I returned to Germany to work for ITT-Industries whom I have been working for nearly 12 years now. My Family: First, I married my Egyptian wife on Sept 21, '05. We are expecting twins (boy & girl) in April/May '07. I have a wonderful daughter, Michelle, that is 15yrs old from my first marriage. My wife and daughter are living in Egypt while I am working in Kuwait. I got custody of my daughter back in Oct'00. She has gone to British schools in Qatar & England. She is now in Egypt and is able to walk to school. Workplace After I left the US Army in March '95, I had a month off until I started working for ITT-Industries in Germany. I was basically going back to the same place I came from at Stuttgart, Germany as a Telelcommunications Technician/Engineer or in layman's terms "the long haul communications equipment that connects you via phones or internet to the rest of the world." I left Stuttgart & ITT for a short 3 month job with Darlington INC working a Navy contract down in Sarajevo & Tuzla, Bosnia. The contract ended and I returned to ITT but at another location - Hohenfels & Grafenwoehr, Germany. I later transfe...Expand for more
rred to RAF Mildenhall & RAF Lakenheath, England in Oct '99 shortly after my second marriage to a Romanian wife. I worked for the Air Force. We stayed in England for 3 years but after that we went our seperate ways. I transferred to Doha, Qatar & became a single parent in the Middle East. I met my wife there & later transferred to Kuwait for a better salary and I am still here for the time being. Military I guess you can say my real adventure in life started with joining the military in Feb '87. I went off from Little Rock to Camp Jackson, SC. I did my 8 weeks Basic training that got me in shape. I then went to another 13 weeks of communication training at Fort Gordon, Augusta, GA. I went to see family and friends back in Baton Rouge, LA & up in Searcy, ARK prior to leaving the States and I have only really come back for vacations. My first assignment was in Seoul, S. Korea with the "Mexican Infantry" other wise know my the acronym of MI ... which is the oximoron - "Military Intelligence". Both forms of MI are basically the same. I was only supposed to be there for 1 year but I was in Korea for 4 years. I met my wife & had my first born ... a daughter there in Aug'91. In Sep '91, I transferred to Stuttgart, Germany for my second military assignment working communications for HQEUCOM J-3 Watch office for critical comms. From there, my family and I travelled most of Europe. Sadly, my marriage broke up and she and I went our seperate ways. I left the military after 8 years and set the stage for me to return to the same communications facility to work as a civilian but that is another part of my life.
