Mandy Bell's Story
Well...where to begin...I guess the beginning would be as good a place as any so here goes. Scott Duke (class of 74) and I married in Dec. 74. We were married almost 10 years, it lacked about two months being 10. Like any young couple, we had our ups and downs. We have two wonderful sons. Sometimes teenage marriages work and sometimes they don't. Ours didn't. But its all okay. Being married to a man in the Air Force did give me the opportunity to travel some in those ten years. We lived in Lubbock, Texas - Biloxi, Mississippi - Riverside, California (twice) - and Whitchurch, UK. The time in the United Kingdom was really fun. Where we lived, it was a slower pace of life than here in the U.S.
I still have a very warped sense of humor. I guess my favorite saying is, "If I was any better, I'd be twins and then we'd all be in trouble!" I firmly believe that if you cannot laugh at yourself, you should never take the liberty of laughing at others.
Rescuing turtles is a habit of mine. I will pull over to the side of the highway and take them out of the road. I am nice enough to take them to the side that they are heading to. To take them back the way they came would just be wrong. The little box turtles are very appreciative, but snapping turtles...well that's another story. They are terminally cranky and don't want to be rescued. (Found that out the hard way!)
As I mentioned earlier Scott and I have two sons...they are now grown sons. Raising them was quite an adventure and having a sense of humor helped the three of us l...Expand for more
ive to tell about it. Jim is daddy to my oldest grangirl...her name is Kendall Kay born September 15, 1995. He lives in Columbus, Ohio. Jim graduated Capital Law School September 2003 with a 3.65 GPA and 15th in the class standings. He graduated in May of 99 from his undergrad studies with degrees in political science, criminology, sociology and psychology. Neat thing is that he did it in four years. Nick, my youngest is the very proud daddy of Brayden Allen born on August 20, 2004 and Hailey Christine born on January 20, 2006. Nick recently started ITT Technical Institute is very excited about his future. He is working for AT&T and plans to stay with them after earning his bachelor's degree.
I have worked for the Fort Knox Community Schools since January of 1984. At present I am the Purchasing Agent and Property Book Custodian for Macdonald Intermediate School. Officially, my title is School Support Assistant...in reality, I am the nurse in the mornings, (can make an ice pack in under 30 seconds and bandaid most anything that hurts!) coverer of classes, recess referee, hug giver and receiver, students' playmate and as my contract states...."All other duties as assigned!" I am so very blessed to work with an amazing group of educators. They are the best!
My momma is still living and is here in E'town as well. She is 91 years old. Everyone should have the joy of raising a sassy senior citizen! :)
Any thing else you wanna know...outside of my weight, just ask! Many blessings to all who take the time to read this fillabuster!
