Mandy's Story
Life
After high school I moved out to Brantford, spent three years working there, went to school in Hamilton in the meantime, *almost* married someone, but it didn't work out. Big surprise there. ;)
From there I moved to Toronto, took a job in Mississauga, tried to make a new life for myself but ultimately sucuumbed to depression and lost everything. Before it all fell apart, I took a wonderful trip to the Azores Islands, my first time flying anywhere...it was so beautiful.
I drifted for a while, lived between Peterborough and Toronto, until I thought I had things under control and went back to Toronto to live with my on and off fiance. I took a great job, life seemed to be going well, but it only lasted for about 6 months. I was hospitalized for a while due to the depression that I tried to supress, and I took a long hard look at my life and what had become of it due ...Expand for more
to my emotional problems and mental health. I made a decision to stop the cycle of on and off relationships, revolving from job to job and I chose to take on my health issues first and foremost. After leaving the hospital, my fiance left me and I was on my own again, but lived with family until I overstayed my welcome.
That was about three years ago. I met a wonderful man who I now live with here in Peterborough. We lived together in Leamington, then we moved to Pembroke, and now we are here and I am happy to be home. I don't work, I have no children, but I have three cats that might as well be my kids. I am on disability for depression and am still fighting with it, it's not easy to find help here, or anywhere. I picked up a great hobby: making chainmaille and jewellery. I spend a lot of my time doing that and dabble a bit in belly dance.
