Manuel's Story
Life
After graduation from High School, I went to college. While away from Long Beach, my horizons were broadened, and I met people who will be friends for the rest of my life. I played college football for two years, and then realized that I had better learn something that can sustain me throughout life. While at Berkeley, I met my wife, Alice. We dated for 3 years, and then were married in 2003. We are about to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. We now live in Chicago. e found more joy and fulfillment in life through my relationship with God, my wife, my family, and my service to others. I am excited about what the future holds.
OK, that was from about 2005,I think. Now, at the beginning of 2008, I have graduated, I am the assistant pastor of Second Baptist Church, and my wife and I were just blessed with a son, Manuel Walter Scott. We have purchased our first home. We are so thankful, and give God glory for all that we have been able to do. I am applying to a PhD program right now, and I hope to be Dr. Scott in the very near future.
