Mao-Hsiung's Story
Life
After high school, I went to Utah and attended Westminster College in August 1996. During my college years worked as a overnight grocery stocker, academic advisor and security officer. I was truly blessed to have made many friends in Utah. Also I had to mourn the passing of my friend, Truman and my maternal grandmother, Consuelo. I graduated in December 1999 with my Bachelors of Arts degree in Business.
After graduation, I took 9 months off travelling, visiting family and friends, dining out, partying and my two favorite activities reading and going to movies! Also in that time I began to research potential employers since I was running out of $$$. Many friends had asked how I could go without working for almost a year and I simply said I had saved a lot of money.
I was offered a sales floor team leader position at the Sandy SuperTarget in August 2000 by Greg Van De Wiele. During my first year at Target I was able to go out to others stores for training, support help, and assist in the opening of new stores. I was not planning to stay in Utah after graduation but I waited for my friend Luis to finish up with his Master's degree.
Luis and I moved to the Houston area in June 2004 and I took a leave of absence from work. In August I submitted my transfer to the new Humble SuperTarget. I was offered the position of Dry Grocery team team leader and assisted ...Expand for more
in the training of others who were new to Target. In April 2003, I was signed off and promoted to the position of senior team leader. I completed my senior team leader and LOD training at the Pasadena SuperTarget at the end of that month. I was transferred to the Baytown Target because of my recent promotion. Finally in January 2004, I was sent to round robin interviews for executive team leader and later was signed off by 3 store team leaders and by our district team leader, Lucy. In March, my promotion became effective and I was sent to the Clear Lake Shores SuperTarget for Target Business College. Upon completion, I was sent to 4 other stores to get my Logistical technical training. I reported back to Baytown Target as the new Logistic executive team leader.
I am single, never married with no children. I enjoying hanging out with my family and friends. I love reading books and going to the theater.
College
I went to Utah to attend Westminster College of Salt Lake City in the Fall of 1996. After my second year, I moved out with 3 great friends: Luis, Gabe, and Elizabeth. I was elected to the Associated Students of Westminster College Senate as a Business Senator March 1997. I also served as a Student Ambassador for Freshman Orientation program from 1997-1999. I graduated December 1999 with my Bachelors of Arts degree in Business with a Spanish minor.
