Marc's Story
I'm on Facebook now. Check that out.
Hi Visitor.
After graduating in 76, I worked in Washington DC for a year.
I joined the Air Force in 1977.
After boot camp in San Antonio Tx, and training in Denver Colorado, I was stationed in Panama City Florida for 9 1/2 years. I was an electronics technician on the F-106, then the F-15 fighter jets. I was lucky enough to take several flights in both jets. Broke the sound barrier twice. Once over the English Channel.
I was stationed in Bitburg Germany for two years. Three years of high school German finally paid off... a little. While in Germany, I walked over 1000 Kilometers (over 600 miles) going on VolksMarches just about every weekend. We saw a lot of Germany, Belgium, France, and Luxembourg. I also started playing the guitar in Germany.
After that, I was transferred to Langley AFB in Hampton Va. I went to Saudi Arabia with the 71st Fighter Squadron in support of Desert Shield / Desert Storm in 1990 an...Expand for more
d 91. I met President Bush the 1st in November of 1990 in Saudi. Our picture was in the Loudon Times... front page. We went back to Saudi three times after that in support of Operation Southern Watch.
I met my wife Dawn in 1991 when she joined our squadron. We married in 1995. My second, her first. I retired from the AF in 1998 and Dawn seperated from the AF after 7 years. We moved to Clayton NC and in 2003 we had a beautiful son. His name is AJ. Dawn and I are both computer technicians. She works in Raleigh as a desktop support tech. I work for ASC Signal Corporation in Smithfield and Garner NC as the Information Systems Manager.
We don't have any pets, just two Hogs out in the garage. A 1996 Harley Softail Custom, and a 1997 Harley Softail Heritage. We loved riding in Rolling Thunder in Wash. DC on Memorial day several times. Nothing like a million Harleys in one place!
It has really been a wild 30 years since 1976.
