Marci's Story
Life
My Spouse: We were in Rhapsody together my Senior year (his Junior). Our friends were trying to hook us up - Jon, Tony, D'Angela - thanks guys! Out of the blue, he sent me a Mum for Homecoming, October 11, 1991. I got word on the "down low" from D'Angela and I sent him a garter. He looked so good in his sweaty uniform after the game:). He came over to see me in the stands and all these other girls (Sarah, Michelle, etc.) were trying to hug him. I was thinking to myself, "Wait a minute, he is my date." So, I grabbed him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. After the game, we went to Taco Villa and a party at Mikey Yarborough's house. D'Angela and Joy were betting how long it would be before he kissed me because he was so shy (three weeks or three months). He had to take his friends (Richard and Gary) home so I walked him to his car (a little red Nissan). Then, he shocked us all. He kissed me goodnight! And, the rest, as they say is history. Pets: My first animal as an adult was Astor (a...Expand for more
Wired-Hair Fox Terrier). True and I rescued her from a pet store in San Angelo before they shipped her off (because nobody wanted her). She is still alive (7 years old), but she has a condition that causes the discs and cartilidge in her back to dissolve over time. Unfortunately, we will have to put her to sleep if she gets worse. We also rescued a dog when we lived in El Paso. The greatest dog of all time! We named him Taco. Taco sustained an acute injury to his back while chasing squirrels in the back yard (his favorite thing to do) - we were forced to put him down. Love you Taco! This Christmas I rescued a pregnant mama dog in Big Spring - she had four babies. They are all perfectly healthy! Thank God! I named the Mom, Gracie (after one of my greatest friends Gracie Nieto) and the babies: Stella, Chuy, Bella, and Frances. Chuy and Bella were adopted by two wonderful families and Frances and Stella stayed with us. We have a tom cat named Smokey and several gold fish in our little pond.
