When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it. When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway. When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back. ... ... When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some. When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going. When times are tough, dare to be tougher. When love hurts you, dare to love again. When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal. When another is lost, dare to help them find the way. When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand. When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile. When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too. When the day has ended, dare to feel as you’ve done your best. Dare to be the best you can – At all times, Dare to be! ― Steve Maraboli (Life, the Truth, and Being Free)  How often we forget to breathe... I remember taking a meditation class once, and the one thing the instructor kept repeating was, "When in a tight place... BREATHE." That is the one thing we seem to forget when we are under stress, and it is the one thing we NEED when we are under stress! ~~ mlom Please let us strive for these virtues... Lives were taken tonight at the hand of the "state"... please pray for the repose of these human souls.... " Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." These are people who are humble and who do not think of themselves more highly than they ought. Jesus once said that whoever humbles himself as a little child would be the gre...atest in the kingdom of heaven. In the book of Proverbs we read that a man's pride will bring him down, but a lowly spirit will bring him honor. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. " Many things happen to us in life that bring us grief, but God will comfort us when we turn to Him. A person must also mourn, or be sad when he/she does things that make God sad because of disobedience. "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. " Meekness is also about humility. Moses was described as a meek person. He knew that whatever he accomplished was not by his own power, but by the power which God gave him. "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. " A hungry baby will cry for milk. We also should be hungry to learn what God wants us to do. The Bible tells us of the things that please God, and that is where we get our spiritual "food". " Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. " The person who is merciful is kind and forgiving. This person is not hateful toward others, but looks for the good qualities in people. " Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God " We can be pure in heart if we fill our minds with good thoughts. If we listen to the evil things of the world, our hearts and minds will become defiled and dirty. We need to be careful of the things we watch, read, and hear. " Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God " Do you encourage people to get along and to be friends? If so, you are a peacemaker. Where peace is concerned, you can be part of the problem, or part of the solution. Be a peacemaker. " Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. " We must stand up for what is right even if it means making someone angry or upset with us. Sometimes this is a hard thing to do, but it is pleasing to God. The Magnificat... My soul doth magnify the Lord. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. Because he hath regarded the humility of his handmaid; ... for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. Because he that is mighty, hath done great things to me; and holy is his name. And his mercy is from generation unto generations, to them that fear him. He hath shewed might in his arm: he hath scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart. He hath put down the mighty from their seat, and hath exalted the humble. He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. He hath received Israel his servant, being mindful of his mercy: As he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed for ever. You can: Advance in your career… Fall in love… Own a home, cars, and more… Build a family… But NOTHING can make you whole like a relationship with God. Love is the answer, yes, True love is sacrificial. It is not a feeling, it is an action. That complicates things a bit. It may seem easier to hang onto a feeling, but the feeling never lasts. After that, love becomes an action, that we determine to love another, above all else. And in that determination, the feeling returns again, maybe not in the intense feelings that we felt earlier, but the in the heart, the heartfelt feeling that we are truly in love with another, beyond the physical, the emotional... it becomes something spiritual, something that can only be shared with the beloved... something beyond description... mlom Symptoms of an enlarged heart... You will weep for the poor... You will cry with those who are mourning... You will support the meek and weak... You will seek justice for the oppressed... You will console those who have lost hope... You will allow the Lord to cleanse your heart... You will work for peace... You will help to further the Kingdom of God... You will long to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, visit the sick and imprisoned, give a proper burial to the deceased... If you exhibit any of these symptoms, it probaby means that you have an enlarged soul as well ♥ (mlom) "Our world is made of love...we are made for love, quiet love. It is sad that noisy hate gets all the attention. For those who are tired of listening to the noise and the chaos: take time, quiet yourself. The Lord still speaks in His small, quiet voice. It doesn't mean He is impoverished. It means that strength is made perfect in weakness, that love prevails over hate, that the 'great and powerful' of our world will bow to the small and quiet, and that, one day, the lion will truly lie down with the lamb." ~~ mlom "When the soul is moved by the divine influence, it forsakes all works, practices, methods, means, books, ideas, and spiritual persons in order to be guided by God alone by abandoning itself to that moving power which becomes the sole source of its perfection. It remains in His hands like all the saints, understanding that the divine action alone can guide it in the right path, and that if it were to seek other means it would inevitably go astray in that unknown country which God compels it to traverse. It is, therefore, the action of God which guides and conducts souls by ways which it alone understands." ~~ Fr. Jean-Pierre de Caussade (1675 - 1751) Until we realize we are thirsty, we will never seek water; Until we realize we are hungry, we won't seek bread; Until we realize we are hurting, ... we won't seek a healer; Until we realize we are lonely, we won't seek a friend. We often search and strive for those things that won't satisfy our deepest needs. Let's seek the True Water, the True Bread, the True Healer, the True Friend. The Beloved says: Whoever drinks of me shall never thirst. Whoever eats my bread shall never hunger. Whoever is hurting, I will heal. Whoever seeks my friendship will never be alone. Come to me, for I am your home. You will find that I have been here all the time, and you have been here with me. Come, find yourself within Me. Seek those things which are above.... xxx mlom "See how very important is the Feeling we have concerning anything, for upon that depends the nature of the atmosphere we create for ourselves. If we love the good, we shall keep and nourish as guardian angels all that is good about us; if the reverse, we shall people our path with the demons of our own breeding." ~~ Max Heindel Beware of people who may try to use you, using your trust and openness to gain access to your soul. You don't need anyone to appove of you or tell you that you are "OK." You know who you are, and the beauty of you. That's what you need to understand, realize, and incorporate into your life. ~~ mlom "Rise above the noise and chatter in the world and in your mind. Let it flow below you as a stream. Bless it all as it flows by, but know it is impermanent, only here for a season, a moment. You are not owned by your emotions, they are mere transients. Stand firm upon the rock, let them flow by." ~~ mlom I have been carried about on every wind of doctrine, choosing this person or that person to follow. I've learned that I don't need a guru or teacher to show me the way, though I do appreciate their instruction. I am my own person with free will, for as free as it can be on this plane of existence. We are all held to the Universal laws, they operate...Expand for more
on all levels. Refusing to cooperate with them leads to folly. ~~ mlom (with help from the Masters) You are your own savior. Don't look without, look within. You hold the key. For what are you seeking? You hold the key. Just open the door. Your heart will reveal the answer that you've known all along. ~~ mlom "The way to use life is to do nothing through acting. The way to use life is to do everything through being." Tao Te Ching "Whether we realize it or not, we are making history. For better or worse, richer or poorer, every thought, word, action, makes history. So what do you want your history to be? Your thoughts, words and deeds make a world of difference, and a difference to the world." ~~ mlom "I love you, deeply, truly, in every breath, with every heart beat, my every thought belongs to you. You are my love, my self, my twin; no one else compares to you. I kneel before you now, for I've never known a love such as this, one that takes my breath away".... mlom Sometimes, I feel very much alone, as if there is no one who understands me, or sees me as I am and still loves me. When I get in this place, I go outside and look above, and I realize that the Being who placed the stars in the sky and set it all in motion created me for a purpose, and I am to enjoy that purpose. I also realize that... there are others who feel the same way, who go outside, look at the stars and wonder... why?.... The wondering is good, because it opens the door to find the reason and purpose of all that is. And I also know that there is another who looks up and wonders if he will ever find his true love. To him I say, yes, I am here. (mlom) "Because hate is put to death through love, all the rest is a given... war is limited by peace, starvation is limited by abundance, cruelty is limited by understandiing, darkness is limited by light, vacuum is limited by air... Light, love, beauty puts an end to darkness, hatred, and ugliness... 'set your mind on things that are above.' If we set our mind to act out of love, all the rest will take care of itself... It is our responsibilty to live and act through love... ~~ mlom "When you learn to look within, the seemingly obscure becomes obvious." ~~ mlom "When you are working Triage in an emergency room, your adrenaline flows and all of your energy is poured into the task at hand, namely, saving people's lives. When the emergency is handled, and you take a moment to breathe, you realize how tired you are. As light workers, we have been in a spiritual Triage, handling all the energies coming at us. Now that we have a moment to catch our breath, we realize the energy we have spent, though the energy we spend in spiritual healing actually gives us a deep healing as well." ~~ mlom "Just when you think you found what you were looking for, you realize you never lost what you've found." ~~ mlom When we are small, we have an inner knowledge of who we are. There is no confusion, and this knowledge is always with us. Our parents, relatives, and well-meaning friends believe they know what is best for us, and out of love, shield us from what they view as wrong or bad... They believe they have better plans for us than we could ev...er have for ourselves. All we have ever desired was to return to where we were when we were told, "it's wrong." We keep looking for the missing piece. We finally realize that we are missing the other half of our soul, the one who knows us and who loves as we are. When we allow ourselves to find that one, we will know we are home, at last. xxx mlom Our life circumstances are continually changing... Many things we have no control over. But we have control over ourselves and how we deal with things that are happening in our world. We can be rigid... and say "no matter what, this is how I will be." Or we can adapt, saying, "I will change if change is needed." For instance, if I was in a horrible accident and became paralysed from the neck down, I could say, I refuse to accept this and stay entrenched in how things used to be, or I could accept my circumstance and try to find how I can grow from it.... In all cases, the self is the same self which is perfect... I just need to listen to myself and learn how I can adjust my perspective to deal with the situation at hand... Every situation reveals to us who we really are, and we learn who we we are in every circumstance... ~~ mlom I feel you... I feel you on me, your breath, your hands, your eyes... I feel you with me, we are one... I take your breath, your touch, your sight, and make them my own, for they are freely given and I accept...we are one... Your breath is my breath, your touch is my touch, your eyes are my eyes... We are one, have always been and always will be, for eternity. xxx mlom When you gaze into the sky at night and see the moon, the stars, the planets, and constellations, and feel that you are somehow separate, remember that you are a part of all of it, with your own unique part to play. You are a star in your own constellation, your web of friends and family, loved ones whom you influence, ...and who influence you. You are the moon who reflects the glorious light of the Sun on those who gather around you. You are the planet, the solid aspect, who assures others that you will always be there whenever you are needed. We are all of these and more, and our influence is felt far beyond what we could ever hope or believe. Our thoughts, words, and actions have a far greater impact than we could ever imagine, so let them be full of love and compassion. "Let your light so shine before men"... ~~ mlom It is so easy to give up and settle for mediocrity, all the while knowing that you will look back on your life and see the opportunities missed. It is much better to make moment-by-moment decisions that will motivate and move you forward to the life you of which you have always dreamed, even though at times it may look impossible to attain (mlom) "It is only natural for people who have been trained to look at the world through the lens of reductionism, by which they break the world down into it's smallest component parts to lose sight of the holistic perspective of the world. After they shatter the reality into little pieces they then deny that the sum of these parts has any meaning greater than the parts themselves. If you know what I mean."- Paul Hefferon "The way to use life is to do nothing through acting. The way to use life is to do everything through being." ~~ Tao Te Ching Believe not because some old manuscripts are produced, believe not because it is your national belief, believe not because you have been made to believe from your childhood, but reason truth out, and after you have analyzed it, then if you find it will do good to one and all, believe it, live up to it, and help others to live up to it. ~~ The Buddha "You don't 'have' a soul. You 'are' a Soul. You 'have' a body." ~~ Clive Staples Lewis "Four rules of Life: Show up. Pay attention. Tell the truth. Don't be attached to the results." ~~ Angeles Arrien “Yesterday is but a dream, tomorrow but a vision. But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day. Such is the salutation to the dawn.” ~~ Sanskrit Proverb “If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. i'll always be with you.” ~Winnie the Pooh No matter how much we try, some things cannot be "undone." All we can do is go on and do the best we can with what is presented to us. Just remember, nothing is ever wasted; everything we go through is for our benefit and is a gift to bring us closer to who we really are, our true Self. ~~ mlom It is the miracle, the mystery, it is inexplicable...whatever it is, it is yours alone, however you find it, it is yours and yours alone, your only way to find it is through yourSelf. ~~ mlom The hardest thing, I believe, is giving up the concept of ownership of another person. We are in relationship, not ownership. We are brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, only if, and as long as, the other person wants to be brother, sister, husband, or wife. Anything beyond that is enslavement. mlom The Divine Romance is the true romance between the Divine Bridegroom and ourselves. From this romance, all others sprout and flourish. We are unable to even love our Lord unless He calls us and teaches how to love ourselves. Only He can show us that we are worthy of love, and in our acceptance of that love, we are able to shower our love upon Him and others. It is the Song of Songs, which appears to be between a man and a woman, but it shows the love and passion that we are capable of experiencing toward ourselves and to our Lord, and ultimately between ourselves and our Lord. "My Beloved is mine and I am His." mlom It is important to remember that emotions are transitory and ever changing. As we embrace our shadows and practice self-acceptance, we learn to love ourselves and others, regardless of what feelings and emotions we are experiencing at the time, and regardless of what we feel others may be projecting on us as well. We know that the Self is perfect, it's only our dis-ordered emotions that may cause us to see ourselves as "less than"... "Less than" is only an illusion.~~mlom We are unable to give to others unless we first contain in ourselves what it is we want to give. We have to love ourselves before we can give love to others, we have to understand ourselves before we can understand others, we have to be kind to ourselves and be gentle with ourselves before we can do so with others.. It all begins with our SELF. ~~ mlom Happiness is a by-product of fulfilling your life's purpose, of doing what you are supposed to be doing. It is a natural
