Marcy is from Elizabeth, Pennsylvania. She is Married. Her schools include Wilson Christian Academy, Elizabeth Forward High School.  How often we forget to breathe... I remember taking a meditation class once, and the one thing the instructor kept repeating was, "When in a tight place... BREATHE." That is the one thing we seem to forget when we are under stress, and it is the one thing we NEED when we are under stress! ~~ mlom

These are people who are humble and who do not think of themselves more highly than they ought. Jesus once said that whoever humbles himself as a little child would be the gre...atest in the kingdom of heaven. In the book of Proverbs we read that a man's pride will bring him down, but a lowly spirit will bring him honor.

Many things happen to us in life that bring us grief, but God will comfort us when we turn to Him. A person must also mourn, or be sad when he/she does things that make God sad because of disobedience.

Meekness is also about humility. Moses was described as a meek person. He knew that whatever he accomplished was not by his own power, but by the power which God gave him.

A hungry baby will cry for milk. We also should be hungry to learn what God wants us to do. The Bible tells us of the things that please God, and that is where we get our spiritual "food".

The person who is merciful is kind and forgiving. This person is not hateful toward others, but looks for the good qualities in people.

We can be pure in heart if we fill our minds with good thoughts. If we listen to the evil things of the world, our hearts and minds will become defiled and dirty. We need to be careful of the things we watch, read, and hear.

Do you encourage people to get along and to be friends? If so, you are a peacemaker. Where peace is concerned, you can be part of the problem, or part of the solution. Be a peacemaker.

We must stand up for what is right even if it means making someone angry or upset with us. Sometimes this is a hard thing to do, but it is pleasing to God.

Love is the answer, yes, True love is sacrificial. It is not a feeling, it is an action. That complicates things a bit. It may seem easier to hang onto a feeling, but the feeling never lasts. After that, love becomes an action, that we determine to love another, above all else. And in that determination, the feeling returns again, maybe not in the intense feelings that we felt earlier, but the in the heart, the heartfelt feeling that we are truly in love with another, beyond the physical, the emotional... it becomes something spiritual, something that can only be shared with the beloved... something beyond description... mlom

Our life circumstances are continually changing... Many things we have no control over. But we have control over ourselves and how we deal with things that are happening in our world. We can be rigid... and say "no matter what, this is how I will be." Or we can adapt, saying, "I will change if change is needed." For instance, if I was in a horrible accident and became paralysed from the neck down, I could say, I refuse to accept this and stay entrenched in how things used to be, or I could accept my circumstance and try to find how I can grow from it.... In all cases, the self is the same self which is perfect... I just need to listen to myself and learn how I can adjust my perspective to deal with the situation at hand... It is important to remember that emotions are transitory and ever changing. As we embrace our shadows and practice self-acceptance, we learn to love ourselves and others, regardless of what feelings and emotions we are experiencing at the time, and regardless of what we feel others may be projecting on us as well. We know that the Self is perfect, it's only our dis-ordered emotions that may cause us to see ourselves as "less than"... "Less than" is only an illusion.~~mlom
We are unable to give to others unless we first contain in ourselves what it is we want to give. We have to love ourselves before we can give love to others, we have to understand ourselves before we can understand others, we have to be kind to ourselves and be gentle with ourselves before we can do so with others..
