Maria's Story
Life
After High School, I ventured out far, far away to Northern Arizona University with a few fellow classmates and lasted one semester, moved back home and finished my lifetime college years at ASU in which I majored in Broadcast Journalism and Business Management. All the while keeping in contact with most of my high school buddies. I found that it took a lot of work to make new friends and figured the ones I already had would do. College was definitely a blast, living alone was fun, some roommates were fun to live with...Toby Girard was a great roomie...a little bossy but funny girl! I never could shake my high school sweetheart, Jason Shelley, so in the Feb. 2000 we got engaged, I graduated ASU that December and we married the following February. We have been married for 3 years now, which makes a total of like ten years together and enjoy driving each other nuts! I have developed a career as an Escrow Officer with Lawyers Title of Arizona and started my own business on the side, "A Jump Above" and Jay is quickly be...Expand for more

School
I began my pursuit of higher education immediately following our graduation in 94 at NAU with fellow alumni, Rachel Milstead, Paul Germinaro, Mark Nordstrom & Mark Schwegler. I however couldn't get used to the cold and never got into the whole grunge thing, so much to my parents dismay moved back home, lost most of my credits and my awesome GPA of 3.8 to transfer to ASU with a 2.9 GPA and no job and no money. Worked all thru school and decided to major in Broadcast Journalism with an emphasis in Public relations and since I was going to be there awhile decided to minor in Business Management emphasizing in Real Estate. I graduated , finally, and what seemed as a never ending juggle of craming for tests, pretending to read all the chapters my professors insisted on assigning us and several failed attempts at passing Macro and MicroEconomics, was now in the passed and just like high school, I wonder where all the time went.
