Maria's Story
Life
Hello! I am currently living back in "wonderful" Bellingham. I came back home after my divorce and have been working out at Northwest Indian College for just over 7 years now. My daughter, who will be 13 yrs old this coming Dec 2009, is in the 6th grade this year at Shuksan Middle School. I see a few people here and there and everyone pretty much looks the same, it's crazy. I don't know if I will stay here in Bham, but for now I will, my daughter likes being around family.
School
My biggest crush would of had to been on M.C. Unfortunately we just never were able to hook up at the right times.
Hmm... which teacher inspired me most? I don't know if inspired is the word I would want to use.... But I really enjoyed Mark Patterson as an instructor.
If I could do it all over again, would I? Sure, why not, it wasn't so bad!
College
Went to Western right after graduating, got married, moved to Southern Cali, attended...Expand for more
Grossmont Community College, got my Associate in Arts. Moved to Virgina, then Texas, then Maryland, then back to Texas and completed a year of Respiratory Therapy and then got a divorce. I started back up at Western in the Human Services Program to complete my BA this past Fall and will finish next Spring. Taking it slow and easy, working full time and being a Mom and taking classes is a lot of work!
Workplace
Had many different jobs in all the states I've lived in, Retail, Pawn Shop, Dentist Office, Temporary Services, light labor, Assistant Office Manager, Office Manager. I am sure I have forgotten something, but have had fun doing them all. My current job is wonderful, I absolutely love it and couldn't ask for a better job. I am an Administrative Assistant to the Student Support Services, I work for a lot of people, but I do love it. I especially love all the students, they are really what make it so wonderful there.
