Maria's Story
Life
50 is not so bad. In fact, I feel pretty good about it. It marks the beginning of the next stage of my life. My son has left for college and my daughter has just begun a great job working for Senator Kennedy in DC. I have lived a full life having spent most of the last 25 years outside of the state, living in PA, CT, NJ, and 15 years on the gulf coast of FL(just spent Spring Break back on the beaches visiting with old friends) I moved back to MA 6 years ago. Steve and I divorced 8 years ago and stay in touch weekly, kids sort of define the relationship now. He has remarried and I am enjoying being single. ve had a successful career and I still own a small private preschool in Florida. I am a Special Education teacher in Sherborn. I have just bought a townhouse in Hopkinton and enjoy spending time decorating my new home, visiting good friends in Boston and my family who are all still in the Andover area. Lots of nieces and nephews! My daughter and I have spent many days this summer up in Maine walking the beaches as I did when I was her age and my son and I spend winter weekends up in Vermont and Maine skiing. They are such a joy and I am very proud of them both. What a life!
I enjoyed seeing many of my classmates at the 30th reunion and now that I have settled in I would love to connect with some of the old gang sometime.
