Maria's Story
Life
Several years after graduation I married my high school sweetheart. Although we are no longer married, we have an extremely handsome son. Currently, I am remarried to a really great guy, and we have a sweet and beautiful daughter. Today, I live in Georgia and have also lived in Germany. I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to countries such as Spain, Belgium, Poland, Mexico, and Italy. In the meantime, I have obtained a bachelor's degree in education and did astonishingly well, I might add. Currently, I am pursuing a master's degree. Needless to say, Life, at this point, is not only Good but Awesome!
School
In 1972 I attended O.W. Holmes elementary and lived right across the street on Ogden in the light gray, two-family flat above the Breckenridge family (remember Bill's room in the basement?). Everyone from the old neighborhood knows me as Dolores. My siblings are Mike, Theresa, and Ray Gutierrez. Some of the people we used to hang out with in the neighborhood were Victor & Marylou Martinez, Mark & Celeste Rakowski, Valdis Kovelinko, Dean George, Te...Expand for more
rry Williams, Danny Sanders, Mike & Joe Black, the Arzola brothers, Big Syl and Barbara Valdez, Anna Kowalski, Ruth Wilson, Pat Marsh, Tony Martinez, Bill Lesinski, Dawn & Daria Dziak, Mick Flores, Linda Harris, Yvette & Jeff Gonzales, Jeff & Rory Riggleman, the Bradley's, the Burton's, the Sewers, David & Maria Perez, and Deb, Sherri & Pam McGough to name a few people I remember from the old neighborhood. Some of us used to hang out at the park, Sgt. S. Romanowski (as I remember it before they changed the name to Coleman A. Young), and we played baseball inside the fenced playground of the school. Man, those were the days! Sorry, I know that I've left quite a few people off the list because my memory doesn't serve me as well as it used to. But if any of y'all are out there, why not give a relocated homegirl a holla 'cause I'm missing the big city!
Life Today:
Currently have a wonderful job, and thankful to be employed with the economy as it is. I've just completed grad school and enrolled in another degree program. I have a great husband and beautiful children!
