Marianna's Story

Life I graduated from Southern University Laboratory High School (1996), and have since moved on to be a Research Technician at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I originally moved here because of my husband's job (he WAS a music teacher for Lincoln Public Schools, but is now an Elementary School Coordinator/assistant principal). Life here is laid back, and the people are conservative. I have 2 daughters now (Isis 6 years old, and Aida 2 years old) as of 2007. I obtained my masters degree in science in Dec. 2002 along w...Expand for more
ith my husband (master of education). We actually graduated together. So far things in Nebraska are good, and the opportunities for advancement are here. I currently work at the University of Nebraska Lincoln in the Avian Cognition Laboratory. I have been here 4 years. My primary focus is caring for and mantaining our colony of bluejays. In addition I train the bluejays to peck at objects on a computer screen. I also help maintain the daily functions of our lab. I enjoy working with the graduate students and undergrads.
