Marianne's Story
Life
Married after about a 1 week hiatus after graduation to John Hilliard. That lasted about 5 years but we did have a son, Robert, who we are both very proud of. Robert is married to a terrific lady, Maureen, and I have 2 beautiful grand-daughters. I took it hard when Rob turned 30 but I finally got over it. Now he's thinking about turning 40! (But that is still a few years away.) Currently on my second marriage of about 20 years and have 2 step-sons, another daughter-inlaw and 3 step-grandsons and 1 step-grand-daughter. I've lived in California, Illinois and Utah and now back in Illinois. However we still own a home in Park City, UT. My working life could be compared to a pinball game but mostly I worked as an administrative assistant. I live with a regal beagle named Sammie and two cats, Kajun & Hallie, who allow us to provide food and shelter for them.
My biggest up-comming goal is to walk 20 miles in the Overnite. The walk is sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide ...Expand for more
Prevention. I lost my mother to that dreaded monster.
Life is and has been good especially when I get to hang out with my grand-daughters or get a chance to travel about.
Workplace
As I said in my life bio; my worklife has been like a pinball game. I like selling Real Estate but I am no Trump. I also like regular paychecks. So, now I'm back in the real working world. I am very fortunate that I found not one but two jobs that I really like doing. No more, "Oh heck, I've got to go back to work", Mondays. One day I went to a job fair at Soldiers Field in Chicago. I was offered and accepted employment with two companies on the same day! What are the odds? Now, I work as a FSR (floater) for IKON Office Systems and as a cashier for Chicago Sports Service. I work the Bears home games and other various events. My biggest thrill was to work at the Rolling Stones concert last October. I only got to see them live for about 10 minutes during my break, but still a thrill just the same.
