Marianne's Story
Old friends may be surprised that I don't do theatre anymore,(don't have the time or the energy), but I'm still involved heavily in artistic pursuits. My degree was in Arts Management for ECU, and I utilized that for 13 years with the City of Wilmington, as the director of the Community Arts Center, and Director of Film, Media and Cultural Arts. I also co-founded Cape Fear Shakespeare, NC's only free outdoor Shakespeare festival, now in its 17th season. After leaving the City's employ, I branched out into the Healing Arts, went into massage school, and now practice massage, CranioSacral Therapy, Pranic Healing, and am a Reiki Master. ioSacral therapists in the state of SC, and most of my work now is with autistic children and adults, and I love it! I'm in practice with my husband Chris, who's now a chiropractor. We spent five fabulous years in St. Louis while he went to chiropractic school, where I was introduced to the Burning Man art community, learned to spin fire, and became a board member of the Artica Urban Wilderness art festival, and a lifetime Artican. We live in Charleston SC now, where I sing with the Charleston Symphony Chorus and Chamber Singers, write grants for the Taylor Music Festival and Na Fidleiri, and still play the piano. No kids, two cats, lots of time for sailing...life is good!
