Marianne's Story

Life Well, It's been an interesting ride as they say. Several strange turns and unexpected careers later... Currently, re-located out of SoCal to Virginia to start yet another career chapter. (Am I crazy or what?...snow snow snow!) I was married right out of Marina. (18) Only lasted 2 years. (Not such a good idea), but it did yield the light of my life (a son Charlie, now 36, married, and lives here in the DC area) I remarried when he was 6, what can I say...slow learner. (He was a great guy but a workaholic so it also did not work after 17 years) Anyway, I can speak 2 languages fluently, (other than English of course)...Spanish and Portuguese, which I have used in two of the previous careers... I lived and traveled throughout South and Central America.. Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Paraguay, Mexico. Ran my own business for awhile, also worked corporate America (fortune 500 companies) I eventually want to settle in Brazil near Sao Paulo, but at the beach. (retirement) but for now, trying my hand at Corporate America again.... Took a couple years off to care for my ailing mom who until recently was in the same house as when I was in HS....scary!! In October 2003 she left to move in with my older sister in Seattle, which left me to re-think and re-start anew... Life is a ball! I never seem to get board of it...I count among my...Expand for more
treasured friends several foreign nationals from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Germany, France, England, and even Japan.....Love to travel, and learn more about what I don't know or understand....(hence my family calls me the gypsy) I often think of old friendships that I have not seen or heard from in years...Sally Anderson, Barbara Essex, Jay and Ginger Rogers, Evelyn Boubion, Mr Bob Myer, Mr Womer...and what was that Anatomy Physiology teachers' name? She was short and feisty...but a great teacher. Well I am looking forward to the next fifty years with anticipation as to what the "good Lord" has in store for me...It only gets better.....Drop an Email if you remember me or know where any of the above mentioned "Lost in space" persons roam these days....would love to reconnect for ol times sake.....Tchau, Adios, Au Revoir as they say!!!! Happy Trails! School Insperational: This one is pretty easy ....Mr Womer and Mr Myer....One for the left brain and one for the right brain of me...They were all inspiring as teachers...They really understood the students and communicated well....Never forget them! I always wanted to be a choreographer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong!. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is John Maltby, because He was such a great person..
