Mariea's Story
Life
After high school went to Cosmetology School; Worked immediately after graduating with the company I took my course from in Halifax Nova Scotia. Married at 21 and lived in Halifax for 10 years. Had my daughter in 1990 and son in 1992. Moved back to Pictou County in 1992 and opened my own hair salon. In 1997 I divorced my first husband. Went to school in 1999 and received my Accounting Diploma. I wanted something to do at nights so worked for ICT call center for a year in 2000. In 2002 decided to go back to school (everyone told me I was nuts, but I actually loved it!) In June of 2002 I married my second husband, wonderful man! He is a Healt & Safety Supervisor at the same place I work. In 2002 decided I wanted a change in my career so went back to school and took IT Networking. 0 weeks work term ;After my 10 weeks they asked me to contract for the summer until I went back to school for my second year. I said yes of course! After summer was over they offered me a full time job instead of returning to school. I was ecstatic!! I achieved my 5-year goal in less than 1 year. I have been with the company for over a year now and love every minute of it!! I continue my education through the company. What more could you ask for! Getting paid to take courses!! My children are wonderful, my daughter is in gr 10 French Immersion and my son is in grade 8. I also have a 24-year-old foster daughter who just graduated from St. MaryÂs with a Vachelor in Criminology and just went back to school to be a teacher! I am so very proud of my kids! Wow, never realized until now how much I have accomplished and still manage to party!!
