Marietta's Story

Moved from Overton, NE w/family to Tulsa beginning my Senior Year, where I graduated in 69 from Nathan Hale High. Returned to Lincoln, NE in 1970 and worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital until 1973 at which time I went to San Diego California and worked with the FDIC. I was part of a team to which investigated C. Arnholt Smith and closed a bank due to fraud. Worked with many lawyers and FBI during that time, it was quite an experience. After 3 years I was a legal secretary for an estate firm, only 1 year, boring!....then worked at Univ. of Calif in San Diego for 11 years in the Student Affairs Dept., in charge of Student Government, Student Organizations (over 250 of them!), and...Expand for more
took some after work classes. In 1989 I brought my husband to Nebraska to live since it seemed we were paying out just as much as we were bringing in....it's expensive on the West Coast....! I now work in Lincoln and am CEO of a rental property business. I manage over 59 different multi unit and single family properties. My husband and I have a few rental houses of our own and enjoy the peace and quiet of Nebraska. Recently have moved out to Waverly, NE, on a 72 acre nature preserve. We have 3 ponds stocked w/fish....a couple of blue herons, ducks, geese, squirrels, hawks, some 'ugly' turkeys, deer, and a lot of other 'critters' running around. Nothing like the 'good life'!
