Hi everyone who may read this, My name is Marijke Dubbelboer (married name Jorissen). I live in the Netherlands, in the city of Eindhoven where alle the Philips stuff comes from). When I was 9 year old I immigrated from Holland to Canada with my mom and dad and my older brother Herman. We first lived in Winona for about a year and then moved to Grimsby. We lived at 60 Ontariostreet , upstairs in the house that was owned by the Twocock family. I remember they had 4 kids, Larry (or Perry?), Donna and Beverly and the youngest boy was, I think, Dennis. I was friends with Donna for a while. I went to school in Grimsby and became friends with Libbie Westland, later when she was married, Matthews. In 1961 my parent decided to go back to Holland because my dad was very homesick. I felt really bad but at the age of 14 there is no choice for you. You just have to do what your parents say. A year after we were back, my brother Herman, was in a car accident and died at the age of 16. This was very hard for my parents and myself. I still miss having a brother sometimes.
