Marilyn's Story
Life
Wayne and I live in Linden, Virginia (the northern tip of the Shenandoah Valley) on one of the smaller Blue RIdge Mountains. Wayne Retired from working outside of DC and I have retired from work as a family therapist and journalist. We now enjoy playing with our eight grandchildren, who live nearby, along with both our sons and their wives. What a life! It's great.....
School
This is the sum of my school/college/workplace and military life:
After graduating from Gunn I attended San Jose State with Wayne and earned my BA and MS in Psychology before heading off to Europe for 3 years while Wayne did his military thing. While in Germany our first son was born and I taught Psychology classes at the University of Maryland in Europe. same issues. I returned stateside while Wayne did another 3-year stint in Alabama. This is where our second son was born and I taught at Jacksonville State University. Next, we did a 3-year stint in the state of Washington. That's where I attended the University of Washington in Seattle to earn my PhD in Psychology. This is where Wayne decided to leave the military and work in the computer field as a civilian...I was delighted, as the "Officer Wife gig was NOT my cup of tea. However. instead of staying on the west coast we moved east to Pennsylvania! Thus, I took a leave of absence from the University with an ABD (All but Dissertation) but never did finish. I worked in Pennsylvania as a family therapist and journalist. After 9/11, Wayne and I hit the road for a year of traveling before settling down in Virginia where Wayne hs several MS degrees and worked in the computer field.
