Marilyn's Story
Life
It's been an interesting trip to this stage of my life. I'm married for the second time, for twelve years now, to my husband Dan. Two oldest boys from first marriage Mark and Paul(McAllister) Mark 32 and married two years to Nora and living and working in Toronto. Paul 28, working and living here in St. Thomas, as we do,gave me the privledge of becoming a grandmother 8 years ago without the benefit of marriage. But I love my granddaughter Tasha to pieces and of course still love her father as well. Then there are the two "younger ones" of Dan's who I have raised as my own and consider them such! Sherry is 24 and was 6 when I came on the scene, Ryan is now 20 and was only 2 then. Travelled all over with the first husband and the military. Experiences and memories added to a life's tale. Was on my own with the boys for a few years, working and trying to pretend I knew how to date all over again. Another experience to add to my life's tale. Met Dan and have been stationary in the same spot ever since. I work in a nursing home which helps me stay young. Found this web site and decided to see how many old friends I could find. More experiences to add to my life's tale and maybe write a book. Always did love to write and still do. Marilyn

th west tip of Vancouver Island. I was teaching the gross motor program to the kindergarten children of families stationed there at the time, and it stirred the initiative in me to upgrade my education. North Island College came to us, in the form of a mobile home, transformed into a few college classes with a travelling professor, once a month, for three days at a time. Most of our studies were done on our own, mailed in to the main college in Coquitlam, B.C. and graded by the professors there. They were returned with the mobile unit for corrections study and comments. I was unable to complete my studies, as we were posted out and off the Island before I could finish. However, what I did complete, has served me well over the course of my "interesting" life. An education well learned and used!
Military
This bio is written as a divorced spouse of a service man who's career was more important to him than his family at that time. The experiences I had as the military wife, could be material for a best seller on the market. There were many interesting and educational times that have formed lasting memories, for the two oldest boys and myself, some good and some bad, that will last us a lifetime. Many friends were made, and many were lost. It was a hard life for families but we toughed it out and servived. Just another chapter in my "interesting" life.
