Marilyn's Story

After highschool, I worked at Mario's on the Plaza, as a bus girl. Then I left for a couple of years, and decided that the Restaurant business was my calling...at that time. I worked as a dining room supervisor, and eventually worked into management. After working 60 to 70 hours a week for a couple of years. I discovered that you could make just as much as a manager makes and work far less. So I waitressed for a few years, and totally enjoyed catering to the public, I've always been a people person. There was a time I truly enjoyed the Restaurant business, but, when going to work seemed more like a job, I needed something else. urn out to be. I thought he was drunk, maybe even blackout drunk, which he may have been. (kidding) We all seemed to be drunks back in the day, but we sure were fun drunks. (smile) At least I thought we were. Since at that time I didn't even know what buy or sell was or meant, and mostly, why??? And at the time I thought Stocks and Bonds was a name for a Panty Hose that stayed up with bonding glue. To say I was a little taken abacklike....because I thought I would never learn the ways of the trading floor, but to my surprise I caught on real fast. It was the coolest, high energy type job I ever had, and with my hyperactivity I happened to fit in perfectly with all my other hyper active co workers. I'll finish this up later because I was there when the market crashed Oct 19, 1987, Black Monday is what they called it. Pretty interesting stories I inherited from that experience. It's late now, goodnight. I always wanted to be a mommy when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.
