Marilyn's Story
Life
After graduation, I attended Chipola Jr. College for a brief period, and joined the US Army in 1985. I went to basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, and had advanced training at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. For my first assignment I was stationed in Monterey, California at the Defense Language Institute. In 1987, I was requested to join the staff of General Carl E. there. We moved to Corvallis, Oregon in 1989 to be near my husband's family. In 1991, we moved to Sacramento, California where I worked at the Sacramento City College. We moved back to Corvallis in 1994, and we are raising our family here. I decided to finish my bachelor's degree in business management and did so June 2002. I continue to thirst for more education. I began a masters program in education September 2005. .....and still I rise....
