Good to be on here with all of you! I look forward to our "09" reunion since I missed the last one. Age has a way of making the past look so wonderful and reconnecting with friends becomes important once again. Since graduating from MCHS and Nurses training, I have finally found my career nitch (after a few jobs along the way)! I am in Medical Research nursing as a coordinator in Des Moines and enjoy it immensely! A few minor things happened after nursing school, a wedding , 2 babies and 19 years later..a divorce. I am the mom of two great sons aged 23 and 26. I am looking forward to the rest.. of what life has to offer. I'm ready to start a new chapter as a single fifty-something (BUT still feel like I'm 22 in my head). In June of 2007, I enjoyed spending some time with my high school friend Sheryl Mansmith-Weiner at some of the "finer" Des Moines night clubs ( had a ball, brought me back to 1969) and made me remember the younger and finer times in life for sure.
If my Kindergarten nap partner/fourth and 5th grade BF( now the father of a daughter who was injured out of state and whom I did an insurance precert for the hospital stay via telephone with him) happens to read this,I would enjoy recapping our days of youth in kindergarten and the fourth grade party. ...Expand for more
In September 2007, I was home and stopped by Roosevelts dedication for the new elementary school..what a site to behold, and it made me laugh as I walked into the Kindergarten room to remember all the "nap" times on the hard floor and talking/laughing the whole time (I could never sleep much then because they FORCED us to).. boy does time change that one, lol!) The dedication of Roosevelt made me envious of the new building and what we missed out on..no computers back then (such a shame!)it might have helped for our Junior High 8th grade typing classes oyyyyyy)What was that guys name..Mr. ? How many people remember Miss Vogel's 8th grade sewing class?????? Then there was the high school "economics" class..oyyyyy! Booorrrrring. I remember our Drivers Ed class..made us into future "federal bombers"..ahh fond memories of waaaay back when.. and those parties. I vowed never to mix beer and flavored Vodka again. Some of you may remember nurses Co-Op with me..ah yes good times too for those of us who got to get out of school, make money and be educated on our future endeavors in the work a day world and miss out on our PM classes at MCHS.
Hope to hear from some of you who would like to reconnect and hope to meet up with you at our 2009 reunion!
Take care now..
