Marion's Story
I left Cedarbrae after grade 11 and did grade 12 and 13 at T.L. Kennedy High School in Mississauga (Cooksville at the time). Then I went to U of T and got a BA in French and a BEd at the Faculty of Education. My teaching subjects were French and Industrial Arts. antastic six years spent teaching problem solving and design with a huge budget for materials and equipment, in small classes with kids who wanted to be there. I was there from 1973-1979.
In 1978 I bought some land in PEI and in 1979 moved there to build a house in the woods. I signed up for a woodlot maintenance course to learn how to use a chainsaw to cut some trees on the property to build a house. At the course I met Tony Reddin. He offered to help me cut the trees to build my house and now we have just celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary! We have two children, Lindsey (born 1983) and Andy (born 1985).
My career in PEI was mainly teaching French to government employees, which I very much enjoyed. I retired in 2005 and have been very busy with volunteer work and taking art courses at Seniors College.
