After garduating Lafayette High School, I went to Brooklyn College, married Alan Newmark. We have two children, Jeffrey and Kerri. Jeff is married with two children, living in Cleveland, Ohio, Kerri is married and living in Utah. We relocated to Cherry Hill , New Jersey and after graduating from the Philadelphia College of Art, I opened my Interior Design firm. After 35 years residing in New Jersey we moved to Florida. We are very involved in our community as well as both still working. I continued with my interior design work until 10 years ago when I changed careers. I am currently employed at a 55+ Active Adult Community as their Social Director. This new career is both challenging and rewarding. Alan and I enjoy each others company, we like to travel, read and love the theater. LIFE AFTER LAFAYETTE- 2016 MARIS LEVINE NEWMARK WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE A GREAT RETIRED LIFE IN PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA When reflecting on January 1961 and graduation from Lafayette High school, it seems like another lifetime. It was a fabulous time to grow up in Brooklyn. Growing up on West 3rd Street in Bensonhurst, having the opportunity of traveling on the subways to NYC or Coney Island. We had the best childhood! Shortly after graduation I married Alan Newmark, a Tildenite. Our son, Jeffrey was born three years after our marriage and four years later our daughter Kerri was born. We had moved from Bensonhurst to Canarsie then to Cherry Hill, NJ and now reside in Palm Beach County, Florida. Both Alan and I attended Brooklyn College, however, once we moved to the suburb of Philadelphia I attended the Philadelphia College of the Arts. After graduating with a degree in Interior Design I established my own design firm specializing in space planning and design for builders in the tri-state area. After 35 years living in South Jersey we chose to relocate to Florida. As Al says, “You Don’t Have to Shovel Sunshine”.
