Mark's Story
Life
During the Summer of 78 I left Miami for Titusville Fl. where I finished High School.
After short stay in the Navy I settled in Kissimmee, Fl where I eventually met My Wife Joy on a Blind Date. Married 3 months & 1 day later. We have been Married for almost 20 years and as of this writing and We have Two boys Chris who's now 20 and Anthony who is 13.
I was working for a Leather Company making Belts, Wallets, etc. where I was Laid Off in November of 2005 after 18 years when the company decided it could get what I was making Cheaper from China and Cashed in on the Realestate boom going on here in Central Florida by selling out and leaving the area.
After seeing an article in the Newspaper on Free Land in the Heartland, I Have NOW Sold My House and moved out of Florida and Gone Somewhere I Had Never Been,KANSAS. I Went From An Area With 250,000 People To An Area With 3600. WOW!!! I Have Finally Found My Small Town I Always Dreamed Of. Friendly People, Fresh Air, Wide Open Spaces. Almost Heaven!!
I Have Now Started On A New Carrier As A Corrections Officer At The Ellsworth Correctional Facility In Ellsworth, Kansas. Who Would Have Ever Thought I Would Be Watching Inmates At A Prison Instead Of Being An Inmate At A Prison.
When I get a chance I play guitar and write Christian songs that I have performed for patients at several local Nursing Homes .
While in Miami I rode a Moped. Well, I am Still on 2 wheels only NOW its a Yamaha V Star motorcycle I ride. If ANYONE is interested in anything else, Just Ask.

Workplace
I worked Various jobs doing everything from Cooking in Restaurants to Convience Store work to Working at Walt Disney World as a Baker. I Finally found a job I Enjoyed doing Leather Work for a small Leather Company in Orlando. After 17 1/2 Years the company bascially shuts down and I'm out of work for the first time in Years. I'm Also Older so it got hard to find a Job in the Orlando Area. So after spending almost a Year out of work, My Wife and I Decided to pack up the family and Sell Everything and move to Kansas.
Once in Kansas I started a New Career as a Corrections Officer with the Kansas Department of Corrections. I have been a Control Center Operator and a Floor Officer in one of the Living Units at the Ellsworth Correctional Facility in Ellsworth, Kansas.
After 4 1/2 Years Of Working In Corrections I Decided I Just Couldn't Take It Anymore. Too Much Negativity So I Quit Working At The Prison And Worked A Couple Of Part Time Jobs Till I Landed The Job I Now Have.I Am NOW A Saw Operator For A Company That Makes Agricultural Equiptment. We Make Machines That Help The Farmers Feed The World.
I Always Loved History and the Wild West, well Now I am Living in a Real Historical Cow Town. Ellsworth is at the Head of Several Old Cattle Trails and at One Time had a Reputation as One of the Roughest Towns in the West. There is even an Annual Cattle Drive Right Through Down Town as part of the Birthday Celebration of Ellsworth.
I Always Considered Myself a Small Town Boy Living in the Big City. Well I FINALLY Found My Small Town.
