Mark's Story
Life
I ended up in the software business after discovering computers at college. I'm still a hacker, though ideally I'd only have to do this four hours a day.
I did the "married with 2.2 kids" thing for many years. I'm single now. The transition was painful but worth it in the long run. I now have the opportunity to lead my life in a way that's more suited to my temperament. I want to simplify my life and focus on the important things now.

obbies. I'm a devoted amateur classical pianist now, after having a 20 year gap in piano lessons. I'm pretty nuts about Brahms, Chopin, Debussy, Ravel, and many other composers, mostly 19th century Romantics. But a few moderns like Prokofiev and Shostakovich are favorites, too.
I don't own a TV and probably never will. Being out in nature is far more refreshing and energizing. I spend a lot of my free time hiking and bicycling. I recently took up cross-country skiing, and am slowly getting the hang of it, and learning to love snow.
