Mark's Story
Since leaving Denby, my life has been fortunate and rich in experiences. I am currently practicing law with my own firm in Grosse Pointe Park with my office across the hall from my daughter's office, so my work is sometimes interrupted by a game of "Go Fish" with my grandson. In 2010 I argued (and won) in the United States Supreme Court with my daughter seated next to me at counsel's table, and I have several other memorable courtroom experiences. I doubt that I will ever retire fully, as I am lucky enough to truly enjoy my work. In August of 2019 Carol and I celebrated our 50th anniversary with two grown daughters, one a lawyer and the other a teacher, who have blessed us with three grandsons--one born March. 2010, another July of 2011 and the most recent in Feb. of 2015, as well as a granddaughter born March 21, 2012. youth. Over the past years we had elementary school reunions and have re-established contact with many classmates from 50 + years ago (go Carleton). Lately I have been played a fair amount of poker, including playing (and cashing) in the World Series of Poker senior events three times.. I have also played a lot of tournament bridge and in the summer of 2019 won a national open pair event, beating about 370 of the best pairs in the world and crossing another one off the bucket list.. The following year we were second in an online national tournament. We were invited to play in an international tournament in China but the timing didn't work out. Life has been good. I often reflect on the special time, place, and events that brought me together with a lot of good people coming of age in the Denby area in the 60's. I look forward to hearing from others and how life has treated them--well I hope . Do good and stay well all.
