Mark's Story
Life
It was kinda like The Divine Comedy. High school hell gave way to a prolonged purgation, aka learning process. Many internal adventures, like getting involved with the dreaded Crazy Poetess who suicides and leaves you all screwed up for a few years.
Things didn't have to improve after that, but they did. Finally finished the BA and had a lot of fun doing so. Moved to San Francisco, worked at the free clinic. Got the wrong degree, but one that has a certain cachet in the marketplace (Stanford MBA). Continued to play The Tragic Romantic, the guy who can't see the treasure in front of him because his mind's on the green grass over the hill. Aka The Fool.

Lausanne Switzerland for 5 years, yielded lots of travel on the company dime. Then I lived in Boston and worked for a high-profile management consulting company for a couple of years before getting fired the same day I found out I had multiple sclerosis. Painful. However, you find out who your friends really are.
Now I'm very happily retired and living with my ex-wife way better than when we were married and I was a dope. Every day is a joy and I look out my window to see the ocean and mountains. Lots of wildlife in the area which my wonderful dog Trix is very interested in as well.
Life is full of surprises, pleasant and unpleasant... these days the pleasants are winning by a big margin.
