Life
Still playing Blues and Rock n' Roll after all these years. Y2K inductee into the Nebraska R&R Hall of Fame. Washington Blues Society "BB" Award for Best Bass. Voting Member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
Retired Office Adminstrator at the Downtown Seattle Office, State Department of Social and Health Services. Certified Chemical Dependency Professional in 1997. Big Thrills:
Playing the San Francisco Blues Festival in Golden Gate Park, European Tour on bass with "The Slamhound Hunters,"
sailed down the Nile on an Egyptian Tour, Senior Parent's Night for the Garfield High School Varsity Girl's Basketball Squad (thanks, Johanna!)
Invited by Sam Butera to attend his "Entertainer of the Y...Expand for more
ear" award ceremony in Las Vegas - what a gas! As Sam says,
"It's nice to be important, but it's
important to be nice!" Buying my own copy of son David's first hip-hop CD, and seeing him play to a sold out crowd in Seattle’s Key Arena as part of Macklemore’s band.
Workplace
Retired in 2009 as the Administrator of the Belltown Community Services Office, Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, providing a full spectrum of state and federally funded social services to downtown Seattle, Queen Anne and Magnolia. State Employee of the Year Award for Western Washington from the Washington State Coalition for the Homeless, 2005. Nationally recognized expert in coordinated services for chronic populations.
