Life

I grew up in the rural regions of Pilot Rock, OR, until I turned 13, then was uprooted and began middle school in Mukilteo, WA. My grades plummeted (from 'A's to 'D's) as a result, and I pined all the while for the day I'd return to my hometown. After finally making some friends around Mukilteo/Everett, the day came and I moved again - back to Pilot Rock. My grades finally picked up (from a 2.75 GPA in 10th grade to a 3.75 in 11th, and from a 1.75 to 2.75 CGPA over the last 2 years), I finally got involved in theater and athletics (football, manager for varsity basketball & playing JV, baseball one year, shot/discus the next year) and I graduated in my hometown.
I wasted my time moving from college to college, major to major - not sure what I wanted - until I finally "graduated" from the Art Institute of Seattle (Computer Animation). I found work in tech support, grew sick of it, and decided to further my education.
I just got a 2nd Associate...Expand for more
's in June, 2002 and started classes at University of Oregon that September - Multimedia Design. After 2 years there, I got bored with failing the Art History requirement repeatedly, tired of having flakey professors (one ordered books so late that they didn't arrive at the bookstore until nearly a month after class started), and missed being in a city environment, so I decided to transfer to Portland State University. I realized I wasn't learning what I wanted in my various Art majors, and that most animation professionals are self-taught, so I changed my major to Psychology and began teaching myself to use LightWave 3D. After finally obtaining my Bachelor's degree in March, 2007, I'll hopefully be able to find work animating for either games or movies (at ILM, Dreamworks, etc). If not, I'm also interested in possibly working in Child Psychology. Meanwhile, I've also been working (further than I had gotten in the days at O.V. or Mariner) on a publishable fantasy novel.
As for personal life, I'm still single... no family of my own or any of that. Maybe someday I'll be in a position to support one.
